Journal block 16 in 2009

Painting with food, I applied paint to an apple I had cut in half and stamped it on a piece of white fabric. It is best to let it set over night to let it dry a bit before applying paint.

Journal block 16 in 2008, I used crayon to color the picture on fabric and did a little free motion stitching.

Couched dark pink, blue and green embroidery floss using the couching foot (on the corner of picture) that came with my machine.
You can of course only sew forward but it is relatively easy to make swirls and curves by sewing slow and moving fabric. Be sure to use stabilizer under the fabric as you sew.
